2016: paper scissors rock

When I think back on this year, it was marked by a precious hiddenness. With one day to pack, we moved out of our two-story apartment and into the basement of another family’s house. It was a decision to live within our means and pursue community on a deeper level.

For many reasons, it was our most frustrating year, but I truly believe God gave us grace for that season. Everyday life was challenging, but it was peppered with refreshment.

I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training and level one yin yoga teacher training. I took advantage of Atlas’ free flight benefit and flew twice to FL, twice to NY, as well as to Chicago, San Diego, and Baltimore. I started a direct sales business and met my goal of affording rent for our own place, allowing us to move in January 2017.

But best of all, I embraced my transition to motherhood. I was pleasantly surprised at how fulfilled and empowered I felt as a new mom. Atlas inspires me to live in the present, love extravagantly, and find joy in even the smallest things life has to offer.
